QUEST: Quality-Established
Welcome to the website of the BMBF joint project “Quest: Quality - Established: Testing and application of curation criteria and quality standards for audiovisual, annotated language data”.
The Quest project (duration 2019-2022), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is based at the University of Hamburg in the Institute for Finno-Ugric/Uralistic Studies. The project consortium consists of the coordinators at the University of Hamburg, the Leibniz-Centre General Linguistics (ZAS) in Berlin, the Archive for Spoken German (AGD)/Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim and the University of Cologne. The BBAW in Berlin is also involved through the 'Endangered Languages Documentation Programme'.
The main aim of the QUEST Project is to maximise the potential for reuse and secondary use of audiovisual, annotated language data in the humanities. Based on the development of quality standards and curation criteria for digital language data, QUEST will develop and test quality assurance procedures for the creation and curation of such resources.
