Departmental student representative committee of the IAA (Fachschaftsrat, FSR)

The student representative committee represents the students and regularly organizes events at the institute. Students can reach the IAA’s student representative committee (after moving back to the Phil-Turm in August 2023) at room B8023, Von-Melle-Park 6. The room is shared with two other student representative committees.

Please note: The office of the University student council AStA is located at Von-Melle-Park 5, inside the WiWi Building. The AStA is not the FSR.

Who we are

Moin! We’re the Fachschaftsrat Anglistik/Amerikanistik and represent the students' interest at our institute. If you have questions concerning your life at the university, feel welcome to contact us and we will help you with any queries. We’re also glad to help with communication between professors and students.
You’re welcome to join us anytime. We’re glad about every new member and people with motivation are always needed on our team! If you’re interested in getting involved and to participate at our uni, just contact us or come around to one of our meetings.

Information for Freshers

Finding your way around a new University can be confusing at first. We want all you Freshers (“Ersties“) to feel welcome at the University. In order to help you with all the new and confusing tasks coming your way as a student we’re organizing an orientation week. We will show you how to sign in to your first courses and you will have the opportunity to meet fellow students and maybe already meet new friends. We’re also organizing a Rallye during orientation week to give you a general overview of the campus. The orientation week usually takes place one week before the lectures start. You can get further information regarding the orientation week on the website of the institute or on facebook.
