Vergegenwärtigungen: Repräsentationen der Shoah in komparatistischer Perspektive

Research Training Group

This Research Training Group is a cross-disciplinary, literary and cultural-scientific doctoral program at the University of Hamburg in cooperation with the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, the Bergen-Belsen Memorial, the Institute for the History of German Jews, Hamburg and the Nordost-Institut (IKGN eV), Lüneburg.

It provides a framework for doctoral projects that deal with different forms/media of the memory of the Shoah in contemporary culture (from 1989). The disciplinary and medial comparative research focuses on the USA, Western and Eastern Europe and wants to connect the discourses about the Shoah conducted there with each other.
