Scholarship of the Übersee-Club to Eliane Lorenz

The Übersee-Club in Hamburg biannually gives grants to young academics and researchers to promote their studies, further education and research projects by giving them the opportunity to finance a stay abroad. The focus of support is on global economy, politics, development aid, geography and ethnology.

Among this year’s laureates is Eliane Lorenz, M.A. She is a research assistant at the IAA in English Linguistics, and the travel grant will support her planned research trip to Vietnam.

The prize-giving ceremony took place at the City Hall of Hamburg on May 5, 2017. Speeches were given by the German Chancellor, Dr. Angela Merkel, and by the Mayor of Hamburg Olaf Scholz.
