Prize-giving ceremony of the Roland Faelske Prize 2018

The prize-giving ceremony of the Roland Faelske Prize will take place on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 5 pm. Since 2010, it is given biannually to honour outstanding master and doctoral theses on graphic literature.

This year's prize will be assigned to Alexandra Novacov (Master thesis) and Dr. Lukas R.A. Wilde (doctoral thesis). Alexandra Novacov is the author of the master thesis „The Ugly in Animated Series“ (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg 2017), and Lukas Wilde is awarded for his dissertation: „Im Reich der Figuren. Meta-narrative Kommunikationsfiguren und die ‚Mangaisierung‘ des japanischen Alltags“ (published with Herbert von Halem Verlag, 2018). Members of the committee: Prof. Joan Bleicher (chairperson), Prof. Carola Wiese, Gudrun Faelske, Michael Hueners, Christian Bachmann and Prof. Christina Meyer.
