Publication INEL Corpus Tavda Mansi

We are pleased to announce that the INEL corpus Tavda Mansi has been published!

This INEL corpus fills a gap in the documentation of the indigenous languages of Northern Eurasia and enables further descriptions of the language. Mansi is a relatively well-described language: there are numerous descriptions and a corpus is also available, but the Tavda variety is not included in the existing corpora. Norbert Szilágyi has already analysed materials of the Tavda variety, but he did not create a corpus that could be searched and analysed electronically. However, he has made his material available online. In the material published in the INEL corpus, the analyses differ significantly from Szilágyi's analysis. For comparison purposes, the texts analysed by Szilágyi have been added to the corpus and the Hungarian translations provided by him have been retained, but corrected in some places.
