INEL – Grammars, Corpora and Language Technology for Indigenous Northern Eurasian Languages is an 18-year long-term project within the framework of the Academy Programme jointly funded by the German federal and state governments and coordinated by the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities. The project is carried out by the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg in cooperation with the University of Hamburg.

The aim of the project, which started its work at the beginning of 2016, is to find and access linguistic resources of selected indigenous languages and varieties of the North Eurasian region. These unique data are digitally curated using current methods of data processing, partially re-collected, enriched with a wealth of further linguistic information and made accessible to the public. In doing so, INEL acts as a bridge between the research of indigenous languages and the international partner institutions.

We are pleased to announce that the INEL Corpus Enets 1.1 has been released!
