The Department of Uralic Studies guides you through the Year of the Dolgans since April 2025. Each month we will introduce you to an expression that roughly corresponds to our respective month. The names of the months are taken from the grammar by Chris Lasse Däbritz and our corpus. The new year in the north begins with a special moment: after weeks of complete darkness, the sun returns. The Dolgans speak of the “Month of the sunrise.” At first it appears only briefly, but with each passing day the light increases noticeably – a clear turning point in the year.

Начиная с апреля 2025 года, институт финноугроведения/уралистики проведет вас через Год долган. Каждый месяц мы будем знакомить вас с выражениями, которые примерно соответствуют ему. Новый год на севере начинается с особого момента: после нескольких недель полной темноты возвращается солнце. Долганы называют этот период «Месяцем восхода солнца». Сначала солнце появляется лишь на мгновение, но с каждым днем свет становится все ярче – это явный переломный момент в году.
