Despite the continuous democratic setbacks in Brazilian society, that led to the conservative turn in the 2018 elections, Brazil remains a laboratory of innovative political experiences that carry within themselves the prospect of resistance on many fronts. In this context, female and feminist participation are a central pillar in the construction of a structural movement of democratic resistance. Departing from the examples of the student occupation movements in 2015 and the MTST (Homeless Worker’s Movement) at the national level, Renata do Val and Lívia Lima present in their speech the centrality of the feminist organization in important political struggles in
the country. Pictures: MTST
