About the lecture

Dr. Damian Weymann talks about his job in the european administration. Our guest gives a presentation about his professional path towards becoming one of the polyglot linguists working at the European Unions’s advisory bodies, and shares some insights about the translation and proofreading processes at the EU institutions, including technical aspects. Furthermore, one can also find out about the importance of refreshing linguistic knowledge, and why poetic translations are so essential.

Bio

Damian Weymann works at the Committee of the Regions of the EU, where he translates from six languages into Polish. He holds a Ph.D. from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań on Poetic Translation from Polish and Russian.
